Campaign > Push > Create

  • Click Campaign in the top menu bar, select Push and click on Create,
    OR
  • Select an existing Push campaign from the Campaign Management Panel and click Copy to edit and create a similar campaign.

Creating the Message Content

In the Push Create window, you can select the type of message, create the content and apply the platform specific (iOS or Android) settings.

  • Campaign Name – this will be the name of your campaign. We recommend that you use a name that uniquely identifies the campaign, and will allow you to recognise it quickly and easily.
  • Campaign Type – select A/B Testing for the type to test different campaign variations and send the one that converts the best.
  • Content Type – you have multiple content options when sending push messages: attach an Image or Video, or select Text for a text-only push campaign.
  • Push Message – this is the body of the push notification. It usually explains the details of the campaign to further motivate action and conversion.
  • Media URL include the URL of the image or video you have included in your campaign.
  • Target URL include a URL to link users directly to a webpage. If you want to use this option, enter the destination page in the format of 'http://www.webpage.com'. If you do not include a Target URL or a deeplink, users will be directed to your app homepage when they open the notification.
  • Custom Key-Value PairsCustom keys, also known as key-value pairs, allow you to pass extra data through your push notification payload for use by custom code in your app. One common use case is passing campaign identifiers for analytics.

Adding Variables

The message content can also include personalisation variables based on profile attributes found in your Subscriber's Database

Click 'Add Variables' to select the field to personalise within the title or body of your push notification. Select the personalisation variable and enter an alternative message content to be displayed in case the variable does not exist for a given member.

For example, let's say you have selected the custom tag "member name" as the personalisation variable. When the notification is sent out the variable will replace the individuals name if it exists. If there is no member name, it will fall back on the "Alternative Message" content you have created.

Selecting Applications

Select which applications will receive your message. You can select to limit your audience to specific applications. You must select at least one.

If you do not see any available selection in this section, you need to add your websites. See Campaign Settings > Push Applications for further instructions.

iOS Options

Select and define the iOS specific options:

  • Interactive Push Button – use this option to add one or two buttons to bring more interactivity to your message. Buttons prompt a user to take specific actions within or outside of your mobile application. Trigger any message action when a button is clicked. See Settings > Campaign Management > Campaign > Interactive Push Buttons.
  • Badge Count – update the recipient device'a app Badge, the red numeric display on the app icon that indicates the number of unread messages.
  • Mutable Content – enabling Mutable Content allows a push notification's content to be changed or downloaded before delivery. iOS 10 only.
