Banner Personalisation with RMCÂ
Advertising via banners can only be effective if you target the specific group of visitors actually interested in viewing further pages about the advertised topic. You do not want to advertise men's watches to a visitor who is interested in viewing your range of women's shoes. RMC provides an algorithm-based and rule-based approach to banner personalisation.Â
Algorithm-Based
Algorithm-based banner personalisation uses machine learning algorithm to automatically decide what content to show each visitor. It makes this decision based on the Targeting Algorithm you select. Select from category, performance or search driven targeting algorithms to optimise onsite experiences and drive higher conversions.

RMC can automatically test which banners are performing best based on CTR, Revenue and Conversions and display banners based on the performance metric you select. See Zones for more Targeting Algorithm options.
Rule-Based
With rule-based banner personalisation, you can create Targeting Rules to segment visitors, and decide which banner to display and the rotation order for each segment. The experience can also be dynamic, changing based on each person's real-time behaviour.
For Example:
If RMC identifies that a visitor arrived to the website after searching for "iPhone accessories", it will show banners for relevant products, and will not use precious space on advertising another brand of smartphone in which the visitor will likely not be interested. When RMC identifies a visitor located in London, it will show a "Free 24-hour delivery to your home in London" banner, that will likely receive more clicks than a generic banner.
