How To Create This Playbook
Create a Custom Rule
Create a rule to only show email signup message to unknown visitors pop-up visitors who intents to leave once they have viewed 3 pages 1 page during their visit.
- Go to Target > Custom Rules > New Custom Rule
- Enter a Title (name) for your custom rule.
- From the Criteria List, select the Page View in Visit - define the number of pages the visitor needs to view before displaying the pop-up Page View in Visit - Equals 1.
- Save your changes.
Create a Targeting Action
- Go to Target > Targeting Actions > New Targeting Action
- Enter a Title (name) for your targeting action.
- Type '*' in the "Pages to be Applied" field to enable this pop-up on all pages across your entire site.
- Select "Show Lightbox" for the Type.
- You have different options to add Content to your Lightbox:
- Simply Copy and Paste your own Lightbox HTML to the Content area.
OR - Select from the built-in Templates and update content with the Design HTML option.
- Simply Copy and Paste your own Lightbox HTML to the Content area.
- Select a Date Range for the pop-up to display.
- Find and select the Custom Rule you have created above from the Target Rules list.
- Save your changes.
Track and Measure Performance
Since the goal of this campaign is to register your unknown visitors for email, success is measured by the number of people who submit their email addresses. You can also get more detailed view in the performance of this pop-up by selecting "Set Tracking Parameter".
