Example
A first-time visitor or unknown visitor comes to your website. Once he views 3 pages, a pop-up message appears asking him to sign-up to receive regular emails in exchange for a discount.
Since he wants to take advantage of the discount offer, he signs up to receive your email newsletter.

Create a Custom Rule
Create a rule to only show email signup message to unknown visitors once they have viewed 3 pages during their visit.
- Go to Target > Custom Rules > New Custom Rule
- Enter a Title (name) for your custom rule.
- From the Criteria List, select the
- Visit - Page View in Visit - Equals 3, define the number of pages the visitor needs to view before displaying the pop-up.
- Visitor - Is Member - No, this is the visitor that you will show the pop-up to.
- Visit - Page View in Visit - Equals 3, define the number of pages the visitor needs to view before displaying the pop-up.
- Click Save your changes.
Step 2 -
Create a Targeting Action using a Custom Rule
- Go to Target > Targeting Actions > New Targeting Action
- Enter a Title (name) for your targeting action.
- Type '*' in the "Pages to be Applied" field to enable this pages on all pages across your entire site.
- Select "Show Lightbox" for the Type.
- You have different options to add Content to your Lightbox:
- Simply Copy and Paste your own Lightbox HTML to the Content area.
OR - Select from the built-in Templates
- Simply Copy and Paste your own Lightbox HTML to the Content area.
- Select a Date Range for the banner to display.
- Find and select the Custom Rule you have created above from the Target Rules list.
- Save your changes.
