Encourage Shoppers to Download Your Mobile App

Introduction

Now that you've built your mobile app, it's time to start marketing it. The growing use of mobile is deeply rooted in consumers’ desire to accomplish their daily tasks or finish their transactions without having to go through multiple platforms. And mobile applications give them that seamless shopping convenience. They can research, read reviews, view photos or even complete their payment of the product in a mobile app. 

As more and more customers choose to interact with brands via their mobile devices, it’s increasingly important to make your mobile app presence known. How does one do this? Target customers already utilising your desktop experience and make it easy for them to get the app.

Let us start by a simple, convenient and highly effective approach: take advantage of your existing website. All of your potential and present customers will obviously come across your online store’s website. And when they are right in the middle of browsing your website, that’s when you encourage them to download your mobile app.


        


How To Create This Playbook

1. Create a Targeting Rule

Create a rule to encourage visitors with a mobile device to download your mobile app:

  1. Go to Target > Targeting Rules > New Targeting Rule

  2. In the Title box enter a Name for your rule.

  3. From the Criteria List, select the 

    1. Visit - define if the visitor uses a mobile device isMobile - Matched - True


  4. Click Save to add new rule.






2. Create a Targeting Action

  1. Go to Target > Targeting Actions > New Targeting Action

  2. Enter a Title (name) for your targeting action.

  3. Type “*URL of home page*” into the Pages to be Applied textbox indicating that you want to enable this action on home page.

  4. Select "Show Lightbox" for the Type.

  5. You have different options to add Content to your Lightbox:

    • Simply Copy and Paste your own Lightbox HTML to the Content area. 
      OR
    • Select from the built-in Templates and update content with the Design HTML option.


  6. Select a Date Range for the banner to display.

  7. Find and select the Targeting Rule you have created above from the Target Rules list.

  8. Click Save to add new action.
